Still on the fence about converting Flash-based eLearning to mobile ready HTML5? You already know that we are reaching the Mobile Tipping Point and the Seven Benefits to mLearning. But, here are three more reasons.
- Apple Stopped — In April of 2010, then Apple CEO, Steve Jobs, stated, “The mobile era is about low power devices, touch interfaces and open web standards—all areas where Flash falls short.” Steve substantiated his case with a six-point attack on Adobe Flash’s market monopoly, reliability, security, and performance.
- Adobe Stopped — Less than two-years after Steve Jobs’ letter, Adobe announced that it would be “discontinuing [their] development of the Flash Player for mobile browsers.”
- Android Stopped — The most recent version of Android’s OS, Jelly Bean, requires a “side-loaded APK.” This means you have to change Security settings to allow Unknown Sources and install risky third-party software.
